This was our first Christmas as husband and wife. We had a wonderful
time at the cabin and in town. Everyone is so friendly up there. The
cabin had an amazing view of the mountains and was away from everyone
enough. We will be staying in a cabin again whether it is mountain view
or another one. All in all we had an amazing time and wouldn't change a
thing.

I
have rented many summer rentals on the beach and many times I was very
disappointed, because of the difference between the pictures you see on
the internet and reality. However, when we walked into Mountain View, we
were very happy that the pictures we saw and reality were the same. It is
a beautiful home with an incredible view. Also, you made the entire
process very easy...from renting to leaving. We will return and we are
trying to get family members to take a getaway to Mountain View. Thanks

'Mountain View' is
a secluded, peaceful and romantic log cabin
is situated at a cool 3000 feet within a short drive from great fishing and
boating on Nantahala Lake and six miles from the breathtaking Nantahala
River Gorge, where you can experience the thrill of white-water rafting.
This one bedroom, one bath cabin is comfortably furnished and has a fully
equipped kitchen. All bed and bath linens are provided. Ceiling fans and
air conditioning keep you cool during the summer months. For the cooler
days and evenings, the propane heating keeps you warm and cozy. Cable
TV is provided for your enjoyment.

Area Activities
There's plenty to do in the area. 'Mountain View' is just a
short drive from the white water rafting and kayaking venues on the
Nantahala and Ocoee rivers. That's in addition to all the great
activities the North Carolina Smokies have to offer
Boating on
Nantahala Lake - You may bring your own boat or jet ski, or rent
a pontoon boat or canoe
Fishing - A relatively low number of boaters makes Nantahala a great
fishing lake. You'll find walleye, crappie, sunfish, trout and bass
all available for your private fish fry. And
below the dam, where the river cascades toward the Nantahala Gorge,
you'll find some of the best fly fishing spots in the eastern US.
Horseback riding - Several nearby stables, including Lonesome Dove
Stables, offer guided trail riding.
Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, in nearby Dillsboro and Bryson City,
offers several scenic excursions.
Mountain Biking - The nearby Tsali
trails offer some of the best mountain biking trails. Bikes can be
rented at the Nantahala Outdoor Center .

loved the cabin and most of all we loved the view. This cabin takes you
away from today's stressful situations and the location is just awesome (
very secluded ). The owner is a very kind person and if you ask me would I
rent this cabin again? I would say most definitely yes !

We had a wonderful time.... Although, it rained most of it!!!
You don't have control over the weather! We just enjoyed being
away. You know when you stay home, neighbors call, you still
have little projects here and there to do. Being away, it's
different spending time together. We are interested in
returning, but maybe in the fall, I bet the scenery is
magnificent. We wanted to go visit the waterfalls... do a
canoe trip, a hike. We loved the cabin. It was VERY cozy.
And QUIET! My husband was very pleased with my choice. I

Western North Carolina Lakes
Fontana Lake
Fontana Lake is
located in the western North Carolina. Appalachian Mountains of Graham County and Swain County. Fontana Lake is a 29-mile-long scenic
mountain lake with more than 280 miles of shoreline and nearly 11,000
acres of water. The 480-foot-high
Fontana Lake Dam on the Little Tennessee River is the tallest dam in the
TVA system. The Appalachian Trail, which extends over 2,000 miles from
Georgia to Maine, crosses the top of Fontana Lake Dam.
With most of Fontana Lake's 280 miles of shoreline preserved by the
the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and USFS Nantahala National
Forest, Fontana Lake's breathtaking beauty remains unspoiled. Quiet
secluded coves and inlets on Fontana Lake provide excellent
opportunities for swimming, boating, fishing, or just relaxing and
enjoying the view. From the spring's mountain laurel to the glorious
colors of fall, Fontana Lake's engaging scenery can be enjoyed year round.
Game fish in Fontana include smallmouth and largemouth bass, white
bass, walleye, and crappie.
Lake Chatuge
Lake Chatuge is a beautiful clear water lake surrounded by mountains of
both Georgia and North Carolina. The sprawling fingers with many islands
and coves cover 9000 acres and have 200 miles of shoreline. A great
majority of the Lake Chatuge borders USFS national forest or is owned by
Tennessee Valley Authority and is undeveloped. Lake Chatuge is known to
have good bass fishing and is regularly stocked. Large Canadian geese
can often be seen in the spectacular rural and mountain scenery of Lake Chatuge. Lake Chatuge is located on the Hiwassee River in western North
Carolina. The reservoir is named after a nearby Cherokee settlement.

Lake Hiwassee is one of the
most picturesque vacation retreat lakes in the southeast. With most of
Lake Hiwassee's
163 miles of shoreline preserved by the USFS Nantahala National Forest,
